Hi all,
I live in Smithfield and can host. Myself and a friend of mine are looking to get a group together for Dungeons and Dragons (preferrably 3.5E but we can learn 4th if necessary. We are flexible with schedules (except sundays). Please respond for more info or if you are interested... |

I'm in! Smithfield isn't too far away from me in Whitinsville (~25 minutes). I too have been out of the tabletop loop for a couple of years now, and 3.5E or older is preferable (though I'd like to give Pathfinder a try). I have minis galore and battlemats too. Sundays are rough as long as the NFL season is going but Friday/Saturday nights are doable as long as I get the missus to sign off on it.
Week nights are possible too, no earlier than 6 PM though. |

I'm looking to run a short Pathfinder campaign to play-test some ideas I had. I am planing to run this scenario at TempleCon, and would like a different perspective than my weekly gaming group. Pathfinder is basically D&D 3.75 for those unfamiliar. Contact me here or call or Stop by Veterans Gaming Saturday or Sunday nights (my shifts) and ask for Gideon.

I'm in! I loved Paizo's work with Dungeon/Dragon before Hasbro, er, WotCie ripped those away from them. A playtest situation would be a good way to ease my rusty arse back into the swing of things.
Once Zach, Sk3tchtr0n, or Gideon have a "group" ready to gather, drop me a line at difonix at yahoo dot com with details/needs from my end. Edited by User 2,652,764 on Dec 21, 2009 10:47 AM |

Wow I wasn't expecting this many replies! Let me give some info on what we have been planning so far... I was going forward assuming it would just be my buddy and me, but this is shaping up nicely.
What we have so far: I was going to run the campaign (out of necessicity, so if someone else wants to run the campaign that's fine) and I was sort of BSing some edits to the standard rules. Its going to be based on the world of Glenn Cook's books, the Black Company series, so magic is going to be VERY rare and restricted to illusion and alteration spells mostly except for very powerful wizards(I will come up with specific exclusions as I develop the setting) and some large scale battles will be planned where the PCs are leading squads. As a DM I tend to heavily favor people who can role (dumb spelling error) play, if you are very descriptive about what you are doing you will be getting +2 bonuses left and right. I'm not a stickler for the rules, and if something is in character I will let it slide, however, I want the campaign to be challenging (and since the setting will be the PCs are part of a large company of mercs to start with) and players should be ready to die. Right now there is myself (DM), two of my friends (all three of us are 23) and possibly my fiance if I can convince her. If necessary an NPC doctor ( a restricted cleric who will be controlled by me) may be following the group. @Rodney - We are looking at Friday nights at 7pm, and we could use the battlemat and minis probably. As we are just starting up again, we were going to see if we couldn't find a white board and use that, but this will obviously be preferential. @Sk3tchtr0n - Would you guys want to join us or do you want to run your own campaign? As I said, I'm running this one because no one else has even run one before that we have now. Either way, let me know! Guys if you have any comments, requests, questions, or whatever reply here or send me an email at zacharymcneilly at gmail.com Thanks guy! Looking forward to getting this campaign started. After being the control freak, er, GM, for 20+ years I'm ready to interact with the story rather than spin it for a change. Doesn't mean the creative juices won't get going again, there's just a thick layer of dust on the RPG side of my brain.
My giant dry erase board was one of the many goodies left behind in Cal but I do have a smaller one if that's preferable. Oh, and some of those dry-erase dungeon tiles if I can remember which box those ended up in. Totally unfamiliar with Glenn Cook's books...I hope that's not going to be problem. Low magic is my favourite as it forces mundane creativity, gawd forbid. Friday works for me; I'll verify with my wife but I don't anticipate any issues short of the immediate holidays. |

hey guys,
First off Veterans Gaming is located at: 943 Namquid Drive Warwick RI 02888 (401) 572-3390 We have plenty of private gaming space available. (my little plug) I would love to run my playtests on Saturday or Sunday Late mornings. I am putting a 12 person group together to warm up for Templecon. However The low magic scenario sounds great. Zach, where are you planning to host? I'll be at Veterans Gaming after 4 o'clock both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Try to contact me there, I may be to busy kicking the shite outa Space Marines to check my E-mail. Later, -Gideon |
