The Rhode Island Gamers Group Message Board › Hobby Shops

This is a roll call for all the existing hobby stores that I can remember in the RI area, past and present. This includes all stores that cater to RPGs, CCGs, board games, and/or miniatures. I'd appreciate anyone who can chip in and add to the list or fill in gaps in my memory...
As it stands, current hobby shops consist of: The Temple (Pawtucket, RI) Game Den (Warren, RI) Die Hard Games (Lincoln, RI) Untapped Games (Pawtucket, RI) Rivendell Books & Games (Rehoboth, MA - I included this store because it's only 10 minutes beyond the state line) Stores that I'm not sure are still open: Disposable Heroes (Johnston, RI) Newport Hobby House (Newport, RI) Annex Cards & Games (Newport, RI) Games Less Ordinary (Exeter, RI) Soldiers Down (these I believe have closed down, but there's probably many others): Games (South Kingstown, RI) Tactics Games (East Providence, RI) GameKeeper (Pawtucket, RI) Your Move Games (Warren, RI) Galaxy Games (Warwick, RI) Kassel's Keep (North Smithfield, RI) I also remember there being a hobby store on N. Main st in North Providence, not far from Golds Gym. I remember visiting it a few times back in 2001. If anyone can recall the name of the store, I'd greatly appreciate it. |

Annex is still open, and they run an FNM.
Games Less Ordinary, I'm pretty sure, is definitely a Soldiers Down. |

And the store you're thinking of (N. Main in Providence) eventually moved to Mineral Springs Ave, and then went under. It was called "Your Move Games"

Oh, I completely forgot about Game On! Thanks for reminding me.
And yes, Felonius, that store must have been Your Move Games. For some reason I thought it had a different name. Thank you. |

Newport Hobby House is still up and running
And Stillpoint Comics in Fall River, Mass (again, less than 10 minutes from RI) also still open And if I may, it would be great if we could add to this list when it is complete by putting a little bit more information about each store - for example, Newport Hobby House, Newport, RI - mostly hobby supplies, model trains, cars, planes, boats, terrain supplies, but does stock Privateer Press, GW Games, and does have a small gaming area in the back with 2 gaming tables. http://www.newporthob... and Stillpoint Comics, Fall River, MA - mostly comic books, does carry RPGs, boardgames, cardgames, some miniatures, but has lots of gaming space and regularly hosts D&D and Pathfinder games. http://www.stillpoint... or something like that - mention any costs (entry fees for games, types of games usually played, etc). Just my preference if we are going to do a roll-call of local stores. - Josh Edited by Joshua on Feb 1, 2012 10:43 AM |

I didn't even know Mana Core or Racoco's existed!!! Thanks for the heads up; I need to check these places out.
I've also never heard of the Trainshed; i used to live in South Kingstown so it must've been way before my time. |
