D&D Encounters: The Elder Elemental Eye

Adventure Background: The Elder Elemental Eye

Long ago, the Sabrak clan of dwarves, in an effort to restore their clan’s lost power and status, meddled with dark forces in the Sunset Mountains. The dwarves succeeded only in creating their own isolation and madness. Their clan grew smaller and ever more degenerate—so that today, only the three brothers who lead the clan and a handful of other dwarves remain. Of the three brothers, Zarnak, the eldest and most powerful, is a seer whose mind shattered long ago when it came into contact with an ancient evil known as the Elder Elemental Eye... and who now plots to spread the abyssal plague throughout the world.

Players who played in the last season "Beyond the Crystal Cave" can transfer one item they gained from that season to their new character this season to give them an extra edge.

D&D Encounters is a bi-weekly Wednesday ongoing in-store campaign, playable in two encounters per meetup (approximately 2-3 hours per meetup). Players earn experience and treasure for their characters as they participate in a compelling ongoing story arc that lasts for a few months.  They also gain reknown points that earn them special promotional fortune cards available nowhere else.

This season also features the newest set of D&D Fortune Cards from the "Spiral of Tharizdun" set.

Roland, two feats for your character. Hafted defense, which gives you a +1 to your AC and REF while wielding a polearm or staff w/ two hands, or Staff Expertise. Some suggestions, I thought they were cool for Wizards and Sorcerers. Also, did you guys know of the Melee Training feat? Lets you use another ability besides STR for attack and damage.

Ann, can Thri-kreen be a dual weapon fighter and also use a shield? They have the extra limb for shield use.

We forgot to question the Drow we captured at the end of the battle, right?

We didn't think it was necessary to save them for questioning so we killed them vigorously.

Thri-kreen are still limited to two functional limbs as the third limb set are not fully functional to the same extent. In other words, they can make their claw attacks with them but not really strong enough to wield weapons or shields effectively.

I'm bringing my Dad, because despite 14 registering we always get like 10 people. Do we know who keeps registering and not showing up?

Wait, we get to keep an item from our old character? Awesome!

I heard talk of keeping an item, but I recall that it was decided we got the stat bonus increase instead. Maybe I am wrong, but I didn't carry over anything from my character.

it's been in every post, but I still don't think we followed through with that. As I said, I think the powers in charge decided on the stat bonus instead. If I'm wrong, it won't really help my character anyways... what is my wizard going to do with a piece of gear from my cleric?

but hey, if I'm wrong, that will just help our group, so I'm not complaining if it's true :-)

Originally, we were using the "inherent an item from last season" rule, which we've been using for several seasons now with people relatively happy. If Dale and David are doing something differently, then stick to what they instruct you on. My recommendation is to simply clarify it with them when you get there tonight.
