D&D Encounters Season 3: Keep on the Borderlands

Get your game on every other Wednesday with D&D Encounters, an ongoing mini-campaign where you’ll play two encounters every other week at your local game store. Earn exclusive rewards as you gain Renown Points for accomplishments made during each season!

Season 3 takes place at the historic and timeless classic "Keep on the Borderlands." This season is all about the new D&D Essentials line of products, utilizing rules that allow new players to get in on the ground floor of 4th edition while granting veteran players a whole new set of character options. There are pre-generated characters available or if you'd like, you can use the rules out of the D&D "Red Box" and the "Heroes of the Fallen Lands" to create your own. This season spans twenty weeks with five chapters of four encounters. It'll span from late September to early February.

If you have friends or family interested in D&D and looking for a great introduction to what 4th edition has to offer, have them come and join us for an evening of adventure at Veteran's Gaming in Warwick. Sessions will start at 6PM and should run from 2-3 hours.

For those of you who played in Seasons 1 and 2, Rewards Cards earned in those adventures are fully legal for use in all subsequent seasons.

So Wizards has posted that there will be no Character Builder update for September. That means that those of you hoping to use it to build your Essentials character just in time for the season opener will probably be a little disappointed. That said, we have pre-gen characters available.

I repeat. WE HAVE PRE-GEN CHARACTERS AVAILABLE.

If worst comes to worst, you can always play one of the pregens one week and then come in with your own custom character the following week.

Found it, though I had to dig through forums and still can't find the original post.

If necessary, I'll be prepared to run a third table Wednesday night. Please keep in mind, however, that I won't be there until 7:15-7:30, so either wait around and we'll get off to a late start (but still finish before 10) or else I'll run just the second encounter (if people can't stay that late).

Since someone just asked, this meetup does still meet at 6PM. I'll be arriving late, but you should arrive for 6 if you plan on being part of the event.

It was a great time. I didn't know anyone there and I am new to the 4th edition system but I felt immediately welcomed. See you in two weeks!

I had a blast, the group was very helpful in getting the basic of 4ed down. I really haven't played much since 2 ed . The DMs' were great and so were the parties. Not much in the way of downside, besides my dice took a little long to wake up. Looking forward to the next gathering
