This Meetup repeats every 2 weeks on Wednesday until September 8, 2010.
Get your game on every other Wednesday with D&D Encounters, an ongoing mini-campaign where you’ll play two encounters every other week at your local game store. Earn exclusive rewards as you gain Renown Points for accomplishments made during each season!
Season 2 takes place in the upcoming Dark Sun campaign setting. Adventure in the deserts of Athas where just surviving the unrelenting heat, vicious monsters, and others trying to scavenge out an existence in a brutal world decimated by reckless magic is hard enough. All characters are pre-generated so all you have to do is show up and play.
If you have friends or family interested in D&D and looking for a great introduction to what 4th edition has to offer, have them come and join us for an evening of adventure at Veteran's Gaming in Warwick. Sessions will start at 6PM and should run from 2-3 hours.
For those of you who played in Season 1, Rewards Cards earned in that adventure are fully legal for use in all subsequent seasons.

Great run tonight! After reading the post-game wrapups from the first session I thought it couldn't POSSIBLY be that bad, but this is one dangerous desert isn't it? Looking forward to the next time.
Good to hear! I'll be there the 30th and probably for the duration too. Also I think Wizards has the pre-gen characters up on the web. If you know which are still there for new players could you let me know? If not no worries I was planning on showing a bit early anyway.
The 30th is the correct date. All meetups that required a schedule change have been corrected in one form or another. We had a loyal following all the way through Season 1 so I fully expect Season 2 to have the same.
This event is appropriate for all ages that can roll dice and do basic math (i.e. addition). You can and it is totally worthwhile to join mid season as only two encounters (out of 15) have been "encountered" so far. You don't need any prior knowledge of rules (though, of course, it helps) as everything is set up for even a brand new player who doesn't even know what roleplaying means. There are pre-generated characters so bring some dice if you have them, otherwise just show up.
Put this in my RSVP comment but it might be better here: What ages is this appropriate for? If you haven't been before, is it worth starting part-way into a season? Finally, what do I need to bring with me?
